"Founded in 1928 as an outcome of the music conference that was held in conjunction with the All India Congress Session in Madras city the previous year, it was conceived to be the institution that would set the standard for Carnatic music."

9-00 a.m: Pooja.

09.30a.m:  Nadaswaram by  Thirumailai Sri.P.Varamoorthy.

10.30 a.m: Goshti Ganam of Pancharatna Kritis.

6.00 p.m: Concert by  Sangita Kalanidhi Sanjay Subrahmanyan accompanied by Nagai Sri. Murlidharan on Violin and Thanjavur Sri Ramadas on Mridangam.  Members of Academy are specially invited.  Rasikas welcome. Additional Car Parking at St. Ebbas School. Programme under the Endowment instituted by Shri.P. Obul Reddy and Smt.P. Gnanamba  

Contribution to Flood Relief and Rebuilding

The Music Academy has successfully completed 89th Annual Conference and concerts and its 10th dance Festival, reflecting the indomitable spirit of Chennai. The whole Margazhi season was dedicated to the tens of thousands of people of Chennai and neighbouring districts, affected by the unprecedented and devasting floods, during first week of December 2015.
