Raga Identification Competition for Carnatic Music Rasikas – Jointly organized by The Music Academy, TAG Corporation and Ramu Endowments will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday 3rd November 2024.

If you can identify a raga and the voice just by listening to an audio clipping, then this competition is for you. Please join the event which will be held at The Kasturi Srinivasan Hall, Music Academy Madras.

Audio clippings will be played for you to identify the raga. The competition is open only to individual participants. There is however no age limit. Performing musicians and advanced students will not qualify for the event. Winners of the first prize in earlier years will not be invited to participate.

After the competition, there will be a brief presentation on ‘Some insights into Raga Identification’ by Dr. Baby Sreeram well known musician with an intuitive understanding of music.

The last date to give your names is 27th October 2024. Registration at the venue begins at 9 a.m. so be present early register and take your assigned seats. Please give your names and confirm your participation through a mail, for us to make suitable arrangements
